Simplified Phenomenological Model for Ferroelectric Micro-Actuator

As smart structures are becoming increasingly ubiquitous in our daily life, the need for efficient modeling electromechanical coupling devices is also rapidly advancing. Smart often made of piezoelectric materials such as lead zirconate titanate (PZT), which exhibits strong nonlinear behavior known hysteresis effect under a large applied electric field. There have been numerous techniques that able to capture an effect; some suitable obtaining physical insights into micro-structure material, while other better-suited practical structural analyses. In this paper, we aim achieve latter. We propose simplified phenomenological macroscopic model ferroelectric actuator. The assumption based on direct relation between irreversible strain and field, consequently polarization. proposed then implemented finite element framework, main features local return mapping tangent moduli derived. outcomes compared validated with experimental data. Therefore, development presented paper can be useful tool actuators.
